Project 365: Day 50 “Footsteps of the Past”

While walking the Barker Dam Loop at Joshua Tree we saw some Native American petroglyphs etched into the rock wall.

It reminded me of how we weren’t by far the first people to walk this path. That there was so much history where we stood and the petroglyphs were a blatant reminder.

It was a humble feeling to be reminded how much grander the world really is once you take yourself away from the center.

I want to know who made these petroglyphs. What were they doing? How old were they? What their frame of mind was? Just curious.
